Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2010 • TABlog

If an avocation's relevance is measured by the seriousness of those who participate in it, then listening to music on finely assembled headphone-based audio systems pins the relevance meter. As I discovered at CanJam earlier this year, the members of Head-Fi.org push personal listening to new heights -- so much so that a second CanJam meet was held concurrently with the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest in the same hotel.

As with the meet in Chicago at the beginning of June, vendors set up booths and Head-Fi members brought their own systems to share with each other.

One CanJam demo had people at the RMAF talking. Visitors to the elaborate Westone display watched a concert video and listened to the concert on the company's in-ear monitors -- a truly immersive (or isolating, take your pick) listening experience.
