Shunyata Research Introduces Limited-Edition Denali-X
n the heels of the launch of its top power conditioner, the Everest-X, Shunyata Research has announced the release of the Denali-X Limited Edition, an upgraded version of Shunyata Research's Denali 6000s/v2. Denali-X benefits from new technologies that have been applied to its larger, more expensive sibling, the Everest-X. Shunyata Research is building a limited run of 100 Denali-X units as part of "a promotional package" that includes a Sigma-X XC power cord, which normally costs $4000 on its own. The retail price for the package is $12,000, but while supplies last, Shunyata Research is offering it for a reduced price of $9000. Upgrades for Denali 6000s/v2 owners to Denali-X will be offered as well. Among Denali-X's design features is QR/BB, a patented device that provides a local reserve of energy, or Coulomb charge, which mitigates the inductive reactance of the AC power line without the use of coils, transformers or capacitors. Also in use is HARP, which was originally developed to address current resonances in speaker cables. Shunyata has adapted it for power distribution, the module functioning as a current-mode diffraction device, disrupting resonances to enhance resolution, coherence, and dynamic stability for connected components. Finally, TAPc (Transverse Axial Polarizer, carbon edition), another patented technology, was developed to enhance the performance of Shunyata's reference signal cables, and its evolution has led to a significant reduction in the size of the modules, so they can be used across a broad range of products, including power distributors. The US Denali-X offers six outlets and one grounding post on its rear panel. The outlets and grounding post are made from solid tellurium copper that, according to Shunyata, is plated with "a neutral-sounding platinum" for protection of the underlying base metal. Owners of the previous Denali 6000s/v2 models can have
their units upgraded to the Denali-X. Pricing and availability for the upgrade are yet to
be determined and will likely be set in the fall. |
