Audeze is a name synonymous with reference-quality planar-magnetic headphones, which cost $3995 for the top pair. So it came as a bit of a surprise to find Audeze bringing an in-ear monitor, or earbud in popular parlance, to market. The iSine 20 is the top model and sells for $599. The iSine 20 uses Fluxor magnets and planar-magnetic diaphragms. Although the iSine 20 appears cumbersome and overly large for an earbud, we found it to fit well, and it employs earhooks to help hold it in place.

Short of in-ear monitors with custom-made inserts or full-sized headphones, these promise to deliver sound commensurate with any portable device available.
