New Cabinet Material Debuts with Wilson Audio's Sabrina V

by The Audio Beat | June 17, 2025

ilson Audio's new Sabrina V ($28,000 per pair) continues as the company's smallest floorstanding speaker, incorporating much of the technology of larger Wilson speakers. However, it also introduces a new cabinet material to Wilson's collection of proprietary composites: H-Material, which is used for Sabrina V's front baffle, because, according to the company, it "lends itself to be more musical in the midrange than Sabrina X, with its use of X-Material." H-Material is slightly softer than the harder-than-steel X-Material, which is used for all of Sabrina V's outer panels and internal braces.

Sabrina V uses Wilson's Convergent Synergy Carbon (CSC) tweeter, originally developed for the Alexx V, along with the 7" AlNiCo (Aluminum - Nickel - Cobalt) QuadraMag midrange driver, developed for the Chronosonic XVX. The same 8” woofer used in the Sasha V and the WATT/Puppy was "specifically chosen for its agility and authority, resulting in bass that is articulate, textured, and intimately tied to the rhythm of the music."

Sabrina V's crossover uses Wilson Audio’s uniquely wound AudioCapX-WA capacitors, produced in-house to ultra-tight tolerances, along with a newly engineered copper version of AudioCapX-WA that includes a copper end-spray, a refinement that  "improves high-frequency micro-detail and spatial clarity, resulting in a more articulate and natural sonic presentation." A new rear-panel hatch simplifies service and tuning, with resistors secured via thumbscrews.

The Sabrina V has a nominal Impedance of 4 ohms (2.23 ohms minimum), a sensitivity of 87dB, and a quoted frequency response of 27Hz–24kHz, +/- 3dB. The Sabrina V will be officially launched on July 3, but more information on the speaker will be released on June 20.
