Summer Reading: The Wilson Way

by The Audio Beat | June 25, 2019

he Wilson Way, The Official History of Wilson Audio ($150) covers in detail Wilson Audio's origins and rise to prominence by  following lives of its two founders, Dave Wilson and Sheryl Lee Jamison Wilson. The book reveals this unique partnership, its foundation built upon diverse and complementary talents and skills as well as a loving marriage.

John Giolas, Wilson Audio's marketing director who has known the Wilsons for more than 30 years, wrote and laid out the book. He has had an active role in the company's management for the past 18 years, and he interviewed Dave and Sheryl Lee dozens of times. Giolas perused hundreds of design drawings and documents, and over 10,000 photographs in search of historical elements to enhance the story he was telling. Much of this material is displayed for the first time in the book. "I was motivated by a quest for the salient truths underlying this uniquely American entrepreneurial story," Giolas says about his work, but "The story also [discusses] the details of Wilson Audio’s struggles, some of which nearly led to the company’s failure."

The hardcover volume was created using the highest production values and the very best materials. The special archival paper "renders the photography with clarity and beauty."

The Wilson Way is available through Wilson Audio dealers and distributors, or you can buy it directly from the company's online store.
