by The Audio Beat | April 19, 2022

öbel will use the High End 2022 show in Munich (May 19-22) to unveil its new Divin Sovereign subwoofer ($32,000). It features an acoustically optimized, constrained-layer-damped cabinet with extensive internal bracing, resin-bonded composite panels with a maximum thickness of nearly 3". The Divin Sovereign's internal amplifier delivers 2500 watts to the sub's proprietary 18" driver. Inputs are via pairs of XLR and RCA jacks, with 12V trigger; two pairs of pass-through outputs use the same connectors. DSP adjustments include input gain, input channel selection, and low-pass filter with adjustable frequency and slope, subsonic filter with adjustable frequency and slope, and five-band parametric EQ with adjustable frequency, gain and Q value/delay. The subwoofer's frequency response is given as 10Hz-200Hz,  depending on DSP adjustments.

The Divin Sovereign measures 31"H x 20 3/8"W x 23 5/8"D and weighs 320 pounds. While Göbel offers any finish, based on customer request, the standard finish is black real piano lacquer with aluminum parts in matte black and silver brushed-aluminum highlights.
