Vivaldi One Reaches Apex

by The Audio Beat | May 13, 2022

he Vivaldi One single-chassis DAC, network music and disc player debuted in 2017 to commemorate dCS's 30 years in business. Only 250 Vivaldi Ones were created, which led to a shortage of the model. Only 50 of new Vivaldi One Apex ($95,000) will be available, ensuring that it will sell out more quickly than its predecessor. It combines the features of the original Vivaldi One -- including dCS’s proprietary clocking architecture and the Esoteric VMK3 VRDS-NEO CD/SACD mechanism -- with dCS's newly released Ring DAC APEX hardware to create the company's ultimate single-chassis music player.

The Vivaldi One APEX supports all major lossless codecs, including MQA, and is compatible with a wide range of streaming services and music management platforms, including Roon, TIDAL, Qobuz, Deezer, Internet Radio and Spotify. It also supports streaming via Apple AirPlay, TIDAL Connect and Spotify Connect. A selection of digital inputs, along with multi-stage DXD oversampling with optional DSD/64 or DSD/128 upsampling, and user-selectable DSP and DSD filters, give the Vivaldi One Apex great flexibility. The unit’s firmware] can be easily updated to deliver new product features and enhancements.

The Vivaldi One Apex features a precision-machined aerospace-grade aluminum chassis that reduces mechanical vibration and magnetic effects for enhanced audio performance, while its multi-stage power regulation, twin mains transformers, and separate power supplies for digital and analog sections ensure maximum sonic purity and overall reliability.

The Vivaldi One Apex will make its public debut, along with dCS's new Vivaldi Apex and Rossini Apex DACs, at the Munich High End show, May 19-22.
