just wanted to say I enjoyed your review of the Bill Evans Treasures... release. Very
informative and knowledgeable.
As
you hinted at, my favorite Evans improvisational work is on Portrait in Jazz.
Brilliant and beyond. "Come Rain or Come Shine" and "Autumn Leaves"
are the height of his improvisational skills, not to mention the melding and cooperative
contribution of the rhythm section.
