Mini-LP protection

May 18, 2021

Marc,

I'm wondering whether you use plastic sleeves for your mini-LP cardboard jackets? I hate the fold-over flaps that stick to the jackets. I'm looking for simple ones that I might slip the CD jackets into, just like we do LPs. I know they exist because somewhere along the way I purchased CDs and received one that perfectly fits a single square mini jacket and one a touch larger that fits a fold-out double jacket.

Any idea where to get these? There are a lot on the web but none quite like what I want.

I assume you're talking about protective sleeves for, for instance, Mobile Fidelity SACDs, which come in their own LP-like sleeves. If so, I have bought some on eBay that fit perfectly. They have a sealable flap, but you could cut that off if you didn't want to use it. I buy the thin plastic CD cases for the discs and seal everything else inside the sleeve. That way I don't have to go through the bother of digging the discs out each time I play them. They are easily accessible. -Marc Mickelson
