Tonbridge Audiojumble, Winter 2011

by Ken Kessler | March 3, 2011

Now enjoying the respect rarely afforded direct-drives in the UK, a clean Technics SP-10 in a granite plinth for £1000 ($1625).

One to add to a collection of Rek-o-Kuts and EMTs: a Gates Radio CB-500 turntable with a Micro-Track tonearm -- a broadcast rig.

A true rival to the Linn back in the late 1970s, the JBE with slate plinth. However, it was a direct-drive, so the UK press dissed it.
