After the introduction of mono amps, a TW-Acustic phono stage was inevitable. The new RPS100 ($17,000) is quite impressive for an initial offering. The perfect mate to so many TW-Acustic turntables, which can accommodate multiple tonearms, the RPS100 has three inputs, each independently adjustable for gain (up to 68dB), loading, EQ and phase, the settings for which are stored in memory. It has an LCD control panel, RCA and XLR inputs. . .

. . .and an outboard power supply (lower left). It uses two tubes per channel -- a 12AX7 and 6922, common types that almost beg for experimentation with NOS alternatives.
