Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2010 • Sounds & Sights

Years ago Mark Markel of Analysis Plus mentioned hearing a pair of vintage B&W Matrix 800 speakers, which look very different from B&W's current Nautilus 800 Diamond speakers, and being very impressed with them. Years later, he lugged a pair of the multi-cabinet, geometric behemoths, which were discontinued decades ago, to the RMAF to demonstrate his top-of-the-line Golden Oval interconnects ($4900/meter pair) and speaker cables ($24,000/ten-foot pair).

Mark confessed that the Golden Oval cables are selling mostly in Asia these days, and his suppliers don't even want to create the wire for him because of the current astronomical price of gold.
