Two New Products from Transparent Audio

by The Audio Beat | June 29, 2018

illed as a "high-performance power conditioner at a more accessible price point," Transparent Audio's new PowerWave ($1595) features eight high-current outlets isolated into four separate banks, Transparent's surge protection, along with coax and data network surge protection. The PowerWave's all-aluminum chassis is said to minimize magnetic fields for improved dynamic power capability. The PowerWave’s improved filter circuits are suspended within a non-conductive polymer resin, freeing them from resonant interference. The PowerWave comes standard with a Transparent Performance power cord.

Also new is the Ultra Headphone Cable ($1995), which, like other Transparent Audio cables, includes an inline network designed and tested for the transmission of audio signals, as well as for the reduction of noise, the control of the effects of resonance on the music signal, and the optimization of audio performance for the specific length of cable. The highly flexible Ultra features dual-isolated channels that have been optimized for electrical and mechanical performance.

In terms of connectivity, the Ultra attaches to the headphone leads via a two-piece coupler, allowing for easy detachment of one set of leads and attachment of another set with a different type of connector. The cable comes with one pair of detachable headphone leads with the connector option of choice; additional leads with a variety of connector options are also available, making it unnecessary to buy different cables for different headphones. All single, dual, and balanced amplifier terminations are also available; changeable amplifier connectors to accommodate multiple amplifiers are a custom option.
