by The Audio Beat | July 28, 2014

ollowing the loss of company namesake Jim Thiel, who passed away in 2009, and purchase by a private-equity firm in 2012, Thiel Audio has begun a rebuilding program that culminates in the recent appointment of a new CEO and move to a new manufacturing facility.

CEO John Wittman joins Thiel with a successful work history in consumer products, manufacturing, distribution and publishing. Since its beginnings 37 years ago, Thiel has been headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky. The company's new home is Nashville, Tennessee. "Being a part of the Nashville community is paramount for Thiel, a city founded on making legendary music," Wittman stated.

In the new Nashville headquarters, Thiel has grown further with the appointment of Paul Fisher as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing along with new hires in engineering, marketing, purchasing and operations, with more new staff to follow. Retained are longtime Thiel veterans Lana Ruth and Rob Gillum to run the customer service and repair departments from a new facility in Lexington.

Next up in Thiel's rebuilding program is an entirely new series of speakers, which will be unveiled in 2015.
