Have It Your Way: Linn's Selekt DSM

inn's new Selekt DSM is a dedicated streaming source ($5200) that can also drive speakers when configured with Linn's integrated-amplifier option ($6825 total). Furthermore, Linn's Katalyst DAC can be added ($7000, or $8775 with integrated amp), increasing the Selekt DSM's utility even further. Upgrades come via separate modules, which allow Linn retailers to perform all work at a customer's home, if necessary. No matter the add-ons, the Selekt DSM’s onboard preamplifier enables connection of all sources, including a turntable.

In any configuration, the Selekt DSM features an attractive dial and smart buttons that are able to be personalized and provide instant access to favorite music by making it possible to operate the product without an app. The dial begins to glow when the unit is approached and turns "with watch-like precision" in response to touch. The smart buttons, "which have been crafted to feel like piano keys," respond instantly, with detailed music information appearing on the Selekt DSM's OLED display.
