Gryphon Audio's New Vanta Cables

by The Audio Beat | July 6, 2020

ryphon Audio marks its 35th anniversary -- and 35 years manufacturing audio cables -- with Vanta, a new line of interconnects (€4800 per meter pair), speaker cables (€11,800 per two-meter pair), power cords (€4400 per two-meter length) and digital cables  (€2900 per meter length, S/PDIF or AES/EBU) that use silver-gold conductors, each sealed in a tube of PTFE insulation, surrounded by a braided screen of silver-plated copper wires to ensure the best possible transmission of the signal. Each cable is then wrapped in a black, glossy polyurethane jacket. The purity of the unique and costly silver-gold alloy employed for all Vanta conductors results in fewer crystal boundaries and eliminates distortion caused by amplitude-dependent signal transmission.

All Vanta cables are terminated with select audio-grade connectors from some of the leading manufacturers, including Oyaide and Neutrik. The connectors are soldered to the silver-gold conductors with the use of a microscope to ensure that all connections are made to the company's standards.

According to Gryphon, the care that goes into the various Vanta cables results in "no intrinsic colourations and no bias in favor of specific frequency bands." Further, "Gryphon cables possess a unique level of tonal coherence from deep, detailed bass up through the rich, open midrange to the airy transparency of the highest frequencies."
