inger Jennifer Warnes and record producer Roscoe Beck appeared at a press conference via telecast to promote the new vinyl issue of Warnes’ Another Time, Another Place, her first new recording in 17 years. The album includes compositions from Warnes as well as Eddie Vedder, John Legend, Mark Knopfler and others. The album is collaboration between Warnes and Beck, Leonard Cohen’s bassist and her musical director on Famous Blue Raincoat and The Hunter.

The album was released on CD last year. The vinyl issue, mastered by Bernie Grundman and pressed at RTI, is being released by Impex Records, and Impex’s Abey Fonn was on hand to help moderate the appearance of Warnes and Beck and a question-and-answer session with journalists.

The packaging is a handsome foldout cover with a deluxe booklet of lyrics and album credits.

Warnes thanked the audiophile world, and Harry Pearson in particular, for helping save her career after Rolling Stone refused to review her albums, claiming she was no longer relevant.

Warnes is no minor female vocalist cranking out uninspired renditions of the Great American Songbook or light jazz. Her heartfelt responses to questions from the floor reinforced the impression left by her album performances -- she is an interpretive heavyweight whose association with Leonard Cohen was no fluke.
