CES 2019 • Hot Product

Rogue Audio used CES to launch two new products. Above, as the placard indicates, is the RP-9 ($7495), the company's new top-of-the-line preamp. It was designed around the 6H30P tube and uses, according to Mark O'Brien of Rogue Audio, "many exotic parts." It's also fully balanced and remote controlled.

The Cronus Magnum III all-tube integrated amp ($2995) resides at a different price point but has impressive features, including the use of KT120 output tubes to produce up to 100 watts per channel, an MM/MC phono stage with up to 60dB of gain, a MOSFET headphone amp, and a metal remote control. It can also be used in ultralinear or triode mode.

Phono adjustments are easy to make via a removable hatch on the top plate, which also gives access to the integrated's fuses. Needless to say, the Cronus Magnum III belies its reasonable price.
