CES 2019 • Hot Product

Increcable is, as its name suggests, a cable manufacturer, but one that makes just about every other kind of product: power distributors, power outlets, damping blocks, electronics -- although no speakers (yet). Jim Saxon discovered the company at last year's CES, saying good things about its tweaked-out demo system.

New from the company for 2019 is a pair of grounding modules that plug into analog or digital products. Each provides grounding and mechanical damping, and looks to be well made. Above is the EBA-1 ($398) for analog electronics; the nearly identical EBD-1 ($398) has copper-colored accents. How exactly they work remains a mystery, other than that they are connected to spare RCA connectors or a dedicated ground lug. They appear to be nicely made, and they are reasonably priced compared to competing products.

Increcable's tube electronics look luxurious and seem to offer a lot of design effort and high-quality parts for their cost. Shown above are the TPA-120M mono amps ($8000 per pair) and TPC-1HP two-piece preamp ($6000). The amps output 120 watts in ultralinear mode or 50 watts in triode via KT150 tubes. The preamp has a pair of RCA inputs and RCA and XLR outputs. It also has adjustable damping factor (we're not sure how that works with a preamp) and a 1/4" headphone jack.

Best of all, Increcable's system sounded very good with EgglestonWorks Viginti speakers ($40,000 per pair) -- poised, easeful and powerful, proving that Increcable's forest of products doesn't obscure the trees of high-end sound they produce.
