Nordost's USB lineup increased by one with the Red Dawn USB ($274.99 per 0.3-meter cable; lengths up to 2 meters are available), which the company points out was designed from the ground up specifically for digital transmission. The Red Dawn USB uses silver-plated oxygen-free copper conductors wound to correspond to USB's unique hybrid -- signal and power -- geometry. The cable uses Nordost's FEP Micro Mono-Filament technology for high-speed transmission and the conductors are shielded with a dual layer of braid to address RFI and EMI and surpass USB 2.0 standards. Termination options include USB C -- a first for Nordost -- to Standard B, Mini B or Micro B. As with its other USB cables, Nordost designed and constructs each Red Dawn USB at its Massachusetts facility, setting it apart from the mass of competition coming from Asia.
