Pro-Ject showed its new DS2 range of audio products, which includes an amplifier, two preamplifiers, a DAC, a CD transport and two phono stages -- one with a DAC option to digitize LPs and the other a tubed unit.

Although US prices for these units have not yet been set, they are projected to come in around $600 to $800 per product, allowing buyers to mix and match to meet their requirements. When used with any number of budget-priced Pro-Ject turntables, a complete system can be assembled on a budget. The next time a non-audiophile friend asks for a system recommendation for a few thousand dollars, the DS2 line looks to be on the short list.
