CES 2017 • Hot Product

Constellation Audio introduced a new lineup of electronics, along with the new Centaur II 500 stereo power amplifier, which was demonstrated with a pair of Magico speakers.

The Centaur II is part of Constellation’s Performance Series and delivers 500Wpc into 8 ohms. It tips the scales at 150 pounds and is priced at $55,000. The solid-state unit sounded magical and seemed to match perfectly with the Magico speakers.

On static display were Constellation’s new lower-priced components from the Revelation Series, including the Andromeda phono stage (middle shelf, $18,000), Pictor preamplifier (below, $18,000) . . .

. . . Taurus stereo amplifier (above, $19,500), Taurus mono amplifier ($39,000/pair) . . .

. . . and DC Filter for the Andromeda and Pictor ($5000). Each product is named after a constellation in the celestial hemisphere, of course. Delivery of these units, for those who can afford to reach for the stars, is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2017.
