CES & THE Show 2010 • Hot Product

We came across the Chinese brand Calyx at last year's CES, where we reported on an interesting product: a combination integrated amp and digital-to-analog converter housed in a very small chassis. Calyx has continued in this same tradition, introducing two more products that aim at high performance and high utility in a small form.

As you can see above, the Kong ($120) comes in an array of colors. It gets digital audio via USB, converts it to analog, and then amplifies it for listening through headphones.

The King Kong digital-to-analog converter ($995) upsamples to 32 bits and 384kHz sampling frequency, and offers a touch that will interest audiophiles...

...both XLR and RCA outputs.
